Who We Are

Artist Management Studio (AMS) is a business management tool built for artists, makers, and small creative businesses. It was originally created to support a family jewelry business and exists to help independent artists manage their products, orders, and day-to-day operations.

Our Core Belief

Your data is yours. We will never sell, share, rent, analyze, or monetize your data in any way. We access your information solely to provide the service you signed up for — nothing more.

What Data We Access

When you connect your Shopify store to AMS, we request permission to:

  • Read and write products — so you can sync your product catalog between AMS and Shopify
  • Read orders — so you can import Shopify sales into AMS for tracking and reporting

We do not access customer personal information. Order imports store only financial data (amounts, dates, and product SKUs) — no customer names, emails, phone numbers, or addresses are stored in AMS.

How We Store Your Data

  • Shopify access tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption with per-business keys
  • Product and order data is stored in a secure, access-controlled database with row-level security ensuring each business can only access their own data
  • All connections use HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit
  • We do not store your Shopify admin password or any customer payment information

How We Use Your Data

We use the data you provide solely to:

  • Sync products between your Shopify store and AMS
  • Import order data for your business reporting
  • Display your business information within the AMS dashboard

That’s it. We do not run analytics on your data, build profiles, serve ads, or share your information with any third party.

Data Sharing

We do not sell or share your data with anyone.

The only third-party services that process your data are the infrastructure providers that host AMS (cloud hosting and database services), and they are bound by their own privacy and security obligations. We do not provide your data to any marketing, analytics, or advertising services.

Data Retention & Deletion

  • Disconnect: When you disconnect your Shopify store from AMS, your access token is immediately revoked and deleted. Your synced product data remains in AMS for your reference but is no longer connected to Shopify.
  • Uninstall: If you uninstall the AMS app from your Shopify store, we automatically deactivate your connection and delete your access token.
  • Full deletion: Upon request or 48 hours after uninstall (per Shopify’s data deletion webhook), we delete all Shopify-linked data including product sync links, image references, order import records, and your integration record. Previously imported sales transactions (amounts, dates, and SKUs only — no customer data) are retained as your business financial records unless you request their removal.
  • Account deletion: To delete your AMS account and all associated data, contact us at admin@artistmanagementstudios.com. We will permanently remove all of your data from our systems within 30 days.

GDPR & Your Rights

We respect your rights under GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable privacy regulations. You have the right to:

  • Access your data — request a copy of what we store
  • Correct your data — update any inaccurate information
  • Delete your data — request complete removal of your information
  • Export your data — receive your data in a portable format

Cookies

AMS uses essential session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics cookies.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify active users via email.
